Summary: After Nationals, Nanjirou struggles with his changing relationship with his son and with tennis; in the meantime, he strikes up a peculiar friendship with Atobe as the latter pursues a higher level in his tennis.
Notes: My subrosa_tennis Round 5 fic, now with minor edits. GUESSING IS OVER AND I CAN BEG FOR BETAS FOR PART II. US people? New Yorkers? *makes puppy eyes atlanerose. Help me, for I know not how to write Ryoma at the junior US Open.

Note: I've never been very happy with the narrative style and overall texture of this fic, and I'm not going to rule out a revamp of the story some time in the future. But that will take place a long time from now, if it ever does take place.
